The first 2 pictures I have done are the main images from the game cases for X-men Legends 1 & 2. Probably not the best things to do as my first images for this blog but it was what I felt like drawing. They are both sketches done in pencil and the first one I did is not very good at all I'll admit. The reason being that I have not done any proper drawing in a long time and I was a bit rusty. The second picture was much better but still far form perfect.
The thing with drawing etc. is that in order to be good you must practice regularly and often. You may retain some of your skill if you stop but you will not be as good as you were before and you will need to build yourself back up again.
So as you can see above this image is an attempt at the big Magneto head, this was done on the 29/06/2013. It is not great and I accept that but it is a good start. When compared to the original image you can see what I was attempting. Portraits are notoriously difficult anyway
My second picture was far better than the first and has a much greater likeness to the image. It's still not perfect but this image (done 2 days later on the 01/07/2013) is a great leap forward because I am now starting to get my artistic eye back.
The above image is a picture of my Wall of Progression, with this wall I will be able to see the improvements I am making over time. The full wall can hold about 12 A4 images and as time goes on older pictures will be substituted with new ones.
Aside from demonstrating my progress I hope this wall will encourage me to continue drawing and motivate me to draw on the days I can't be bothered.
To create your own wall of progression just clear a space of wall and stick up your pictures with some blue tack or masking tape so that it doesn't destroy/tear your pictures when it comes to taking them down. Create yourself a title page as well like I have saying 'Wall of Progression' or something similar. If you do a Wall of Progression put a picture of it on photobucket or use.com etc. and leave the link in a comment. If I like what you've done you may get a special mention in future posts.
