Dice Stack Pen Sketch

Originally I was intending on drawing a still life of some fruit, a classic right? But I wasn't feeling it so I spent a bit of time looking for some other things to draw instead and decided to draw a stack of dice.
Now dice aren't exactly the most difficult things to draw (or the most exciting) because they are cubes and I when I saw the bag of dice I thought that it would be a good way to try and encourage drawing the same objects multiple times with the same degree of accuracy- which you will soon see I wasn't quite able to achieve this time.

The dice I have have rounded edges (like most) and so when drawing them you can't just draw a cube, instead you have to draw a lot of curves which make you think you're drawing circles more than squares, but persist and draw what is there and what your eye is actually seeing and things will work out.

So below we have the actual dice stack I was drawing and the sketch underneath that.

You may have noticed that the title says 'Pen Sketch' and that is because this image was done with a black pen. None of that draw it in pencil then outline with pen stuff here. I like working with pen and have done many sketches and doodles over the years in pen. You can't rub out pen and so you have to pay more attention to doing it properly and find ways to cleverly cover your mistakes.

For those of you who would've preferred a still life of a bowl of fruit Don't Worry! It'll come and will most likely be my next picture.

Feel free to use the photo of the dice stack to attempt it yourself and if you do, upload it somewhere and let me know and don't forget to stick it up on your Wall of Progression.
