Tribute to my Childhood- Pokemon

My series of Tributes begins with the whirlwind that was Pokemon. It took the world by storm and it is still going strong. It was a new and amazing idea that captured the imaginations of every child back then, it's like had not been seen before. The cartoons were great, the toys a must have and the games mind blowing. To top it all off as Pokemon reached it's peak it then went above and beyond with the legendary Pokemon: Then First Movie.

This was a film that encapsulated all the great things about Pokemon. But more than that it had a story with genuine depth and conveyed a message about kindness that hit everyone in such a profound way.

It is for these reasons that Pokemon gets my recognition first.

Tribute to my Childhood series

The cartoons and stories that I grew up with have had a large impact on the kind of styles of drawings that I like. Because of this I have decided to do a series of drawings dedicated to the cartoons I used to watch. As a child the cartoons I watched were: the X-men, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Thundercats, Transformers, He-Man, Spider-man, Batman, Animaniacs, Warner Bros. and more. In addition to those cartoons I was also a fan of the Beano and Dandy comics.

Learning to Draw Figures/People

To be able to successfully draw comic style images I'm going to need to learn to draw people. Not just a one-off sketch but multiple images of the same person in a variety of poses and situations. There are a couple of methods that are used for drawing people and artists pick the one they prefer.
